CyberForce Operational Detachment Alpha

The CyberForce A-Team 

The CyberForce Operational Detachment-A, or A-Team, is the fundamental building block for all CyberForce Groups.

A cyber commander leads a 12-person team. Second in command is a vice-commander.

The remaining noncommissioned officers are cross-trained, at a minimum, in at least five CF functional areas:

• Cybernetic operations
• Virtual teleoperation
• Communications
• Artificial Intelligence
• Engineering
• Demolitions
• Weapons
• Medicine

There are three A detachments in each CyberForce company.  All team members are CF qualified and cross-trained in additional skills as well as being multi-lingual.

Capabilities of the highly-versatile A-team include:

• Conduct CF operations as an individually effort, team operation or as part of a larger force;
• Infiltrate and exfiltrate specified operational areas by air, land, or sea;
• Conduct cyberforce operations in remote areas and hostile environments for extended periods of time with a minimum of external direction or support;
• Develop, organize, equip, train and advise or direct indigenous forces up to battalion size in cyberforce operations;
• Plan and conduct unilateral cyberforce operations;
• Conduct cyberforce operations as directed by higher authority
• Consult with Department of Homeland Security as appopriate

In the CF company, all of the A-team members are trained in 

• Underwater diving
• Ram air parachute control
• HALO parachute techniques
• Powered parachute flight 
• Ultra-light operation
• Single Engine Land Aircraft
• Paraballoon
• Cybertank

In general, A-teams are equipped with HF, VHF and UHF communications systems including tactical satellite communications, burst transmission devices, high-frequency radios, and GPS. All communications are encrypted.
